| On Friday, April 15, the Fire Company held search and rescue training at Fire Headquarters. Firefighters practiced stretching hoselines, locating/rescuing victims, firefighter rescue and simulations of situations that can occur during a fire such as floor and roof collapse. The all purpose room of the firehouse was set up with an adjustable maze that firefighters navigated through using simulated smoke. Search teams in full turnout gear and SCBA navigated through encountering simulated victims, downed firefighters with PASS (personal alert safety system) alarms activated and other circumstances that would occur during an acutal fire. |
